Keep Network has now added support for WalletConnect. WalletConnect users can now directly interact with Keep Dashboard without the need of Metamask. WalletConnect is an open protocol made to facilitate a secure connection between mobile cryptocurrency wallets and desktop applications, such as dapps. Transactions are made through an encrypted connection by scanning a QR code, and are confirmed/signed on the mobile device. WalletConnect mobile apps do not expose your private key. As the private key never leaves the user’s mobile device, their funds are never at risk and the possibility of a hijack is very low. This is the guide to show you how to stake your KEEP tokens in KEEP-Only staking pool using WalletConnect. You can also stake in other pools using same approach. I’m using Ropsten Testnet to prepare this guide but it would be same steps on Mainnet.
Prerequisites:
- Make sure you have installed WalletConnect compatible wallet. List of compatible wallets can be found here — https://walletconnect.org/wallets. For this guide, I’m using imToken mobile wallet on iOS 14 — https://token.im/.
- Some ETH for gas (0.05–0.1 ETH depending on gas prices).
- Tokens to stake. For this guide, I’m staking KEEP tokens in KEEP-Only pool.
Note: There will be 2 contract interactions to stake. First for approving your KEEP tokens to be used in Keep dashboard and Second for KEEP tokens staking.
Staking Steps:
You will be interacting on 2 different devices to approve and sign transactions— imToken app on Mobile & Keep Dashboard on Desktop.
- On Mobile — Open imToken App and open the camera.
2. On Computer — Go to Keep Liquidity Dashboard and Connect your wallet using ‘WalletConnect’.
3. You will be prompted with a QR Code on Computer to connect to imToken wallet. Scan the QR code from Mobile imToken wallet(from step 1 above).
4. On Mobile — tap ‘Allow’. It will now connect your Mobile imToken wallet to Keep Dashboard. You will see the message as connected as shown below.
5. On Computer — click ‘DEPOSIT KEEP’.
6. You will now get a pop-up asking you to enter the amount to KEEP you want to deposit. In my case I’m depositing 1000 KEEP tokens. Then click ‘DEPOSIT KEEP’.
7. On Mobile — you will now be prompted with first transaction to allow spending your KEEP tokens in Keep Dashboard. Tap ‘Next’. On the next screen, you will need to enter password or Biometric authentication if enabled. Enter password and tap ‘Confirm’.
8. On Mobile — you will now be prompted with second transaction to deposit your KEEP tokens in Keep Dashboard. Tap ‘Confirm’. On the next screen, you will need to enter password or Biometric authentication if enabled. Enter password and tap ‘Confirm’.
9. Once the above transactions are confirmed, you can see your deposited KEEP tokens in dashboard.
Note: APY shown above is high because its on Ropsten testnet.
Congratulations ! you have now staked your KEEP tokens and earning more KEEP rewards using WalletConnet. Monitor your KEEP rewards using the Keep Dashboard.
Withdrawing KEEP Rewards:
When you want to withdraw your staked KEEP tokens and KEEP rewards — Simply click ‘WITHDRAW ALL’ button and this will unstake your KEEP and also withdraw all your KEEP rewards.
